watering the plants while the cats sleep.

this week we learned what to do with Edith
when we bring her back from the hospital (in
our birth-class). as far as I could make out we have to wrap her up very tightly and hold her
like a football.......as well as feeding and changing
diapers ofcourse...
the rains have arrived and coldness is setting in.
one month to go or perhaps less!!!!
rock "n" shop on thursday, should be fun.
big thank you to xtina for all her help, plus
mel and lisa mortimer.

last saturday christina threw us a baby shower at our house. It was great to see so many people and celebrate the anticpated arrival of edie.
with every invitation christina sent along a onesie with fabric paint for the guests to decorate and bring to the shower. we got some really amazing handmade originals that i can't wait to dress edie up in.
the tree you see on the left contains the party favors - wildflower seeds to spread in edie's name.

thank you all for the great presents, i've never seen so many 'cute' baby clothes. we got some really practical gifts too, for which we are grateful. there was only one shower game, you couldn't say the word cute or you lost the clothes pin you came in with. lisa and maegan battled it out for the prize. i'm sure cheating was involved. due to all of the presents, edie's room is now functional and pretty full - and she now has a mattress to sleep on! thanks everyone!

5-6 weeks to go...
we've been getting edie's room together, spending time on finding things to put on the walls rather than getting essentials, like a mattress. pretty, but not yet functional.
homework for our childbirth class was writing our birth plan.
sacha's show last week was a good time - lots of people turned up for a sunday night show. we've been busy going out with friends lately - our last chance while its just the two of us and i'm still mobile.
i finally used my gift certificate at International Orange (from xtina & lisa for my b-day last year) to get a mommy-to-be massage and a mini-facial. it was delectable. xtina got an organic rejuvenation for her b-day present this year. while we were in paradise being manhandled, poor lisa was up the road at the dentist getting the first installation of a crown.
mom's present this week was a receiving blanket, thanks mom!

I got tons of great presents and those that didn't travel, sent great gifts, like the blue monster i'm holding from Carol who lives in Colorado. we had great food and a yummy cake. edie gots lots of clothes and i got some essentials from the registry. thank you to everyone who came and those that couldn't make it... thanks for the pressies.
